Didn’t we already suspect that Jane/Jake wasn’t going to happen? I may be making some assumptions here, which is a very bad idea with Homestuck, but Nannasprite’s story to @fedorafreak at the end of Act 5 implied to me that Jane liked Jake, but got over it and married a nice man and happily had Dad Egbert. Of course, Nannasprite didn’t really get into the inevitable AUGH TEEN ANGST.

yeah wasn’t there like that whole flashback kinda story with young jake and jane being together very briefly, but then jake left and SAILED OFF TO ADVENTURE with halley???
